I can say that I love God and support my church. But what happens when that love requires practical action?
Spiritual maturity must affect how I live, how I treat people and how I fulfil my responsibilities. Philippians 2:20โ22 describes Timothyโs sincere concern, proven character and faithful service.
Five Areas Where I Must Take Responsibility
My spiritual life: I must cultivate prayer, study Scripture and obey God.
My relationships: I must learn to encourage and support others.
My service: When I accept an assignment, I must take it seriously and communicate honestly when difficulties arise.
My commitments: I must learn to finish what I have agreed to do, or seek help and renegotiate responsibly when necessary.
My contribution to the gospel: I can share the gospel, pray for those who need Christ and help new believers connect with discipleship.
Responsibility Must Be Healthy
Taking responsibility does not mean doing everything. I have limits and obligations. I must serve according to my gifts, preparation and capacity, without making promises I cannot keep.
My Personal Reflection
What have I been entrusted with? Have I been faithful with it? What responsibility have I neglected? What can I complete this week?
I will be faithful with what God has entrusted to me. I want my character to support my calling.
Scripture: Philippians 2:20โ22; Luke 16:10.
