Knowing about Jesus and knowing Him personally are not the same thing. A relationship with Christ grows as we trust Him, learn His Word and respond to His teaching in everyday life.
โDraw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.โ โ James 4:8 (KJV)
Spend time in prayer
Prayer is honest conversation with God. Praise Him, confess your sins, express your needs and ask for wisdom. You don’t need impressive words. Build a regular time for prayer, even if you begin with a few minutes each day.
Learn the ways of Jesus
Read the Gospels to understand His character, teaching and compassion. Read slowly and ask what the passage shows you about Him. Then consider how to put it into practice.
Respond through obedience
If Jesus teaches you to forgive, take steps towards forgiveness. If His Word challenges dishonesty, choose integrity. If a habit harms others, seek God’s help and accountability to change.
Grow with other believers
A personal relationship with Jesus does not mean living a solitary Christian life. Worship, Bible teaching, prayer and service with other believers help us learn and encourage one another.
A simple daily rhythm
- Pray honestly for five minutes.
- Read a short passage from John.
- Write one lesson you want to remember.
- Practise that lesson in one real situation.
Consistency matters more than trying to do everything at once. If you miss a day, begin again without giving up.
