I must not think only about what my church is doing today. I must also consider what will happen tomorrow.
Who will disciple the next generation? Who will teach the Word, lead ministries, care for people and help new believers grow? These are questions to address while there is still time to prepare people.
Joshua 13:1 describes Joshua growing old while much land remained to be possessed. Judges 2:10 describes a generation that did not know the Lord or the works He had done for Israel. These passages remind me that work can remain unfinished and faith must be passed on faithfully.
What Must I Help Pass On?
I must help pass on biblical truth, spiritual devotion, godly character, ministry skills, shared responsibility and a heart for people.
The next generation needs more than buildings, titles and schedules. It needs to know God and be equipped to serve Him faithfully.
My Role in the Future
I may not be a senior leader, but I can encourage a younger believer, help a new Christian understand Scripture, serve faithfully and support the development of future leaders.
My Reflection
What am I doing today that will help someone else serve God tomorrow? Am I sharing what I have learned and encouraging the next generation?
I will help build a church that prepares people to continue the work of God faithfully.
Scripture: Joshua 13:1; Judges 2:10; 2 Timothy 2:2.
