Marriage should not be treated as a rescue mission. Before asking God for a husband, allow God to work deeply in you.
Preparation for marriage includes spiritual maturity, emotional health, communication, character, responsibility and understanding God’s design for covenant.
Genesis 2:18 shows that companionship is part of God’s design, but marriage is more than simply finding someone who makes you feel loved. It is a covenant that requires sacrifice, faithfulness and maturity.
Do not rush because everyone around you is getting married. Your timeline is not God’s deadline.
Use your single season well. Grow in Christ. Develop your gifts. Learn responsibility. Build healthy friendships. Understand yourself. Let God deal with patterns that could damage a future marriage.
Challenge: Instead of making a list of what you want in a spouse, make a list of the character God is developing in you.
Prayer: Father, prepare me for every relationship You have ordained for my life. Make me mature, wise and spiritually grounded. Amen.
