Spiritual growth often begins with one decision. You may want to pray consistently, understand the Bible, return to church or make a change in an area where you have struggled. The next step may feel small, but taking it matters.
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…” — James 1:22 (KJV)
Move from intention to action
It is possible to hear many sermons and collect many notes without changing our daily habits. God’s Word calls us to respond. Choose one truth you have learned about Jesus and identify a practical way to live it out today.
Build a simple rhythm
You don’t need to begin with an unrealistic plan. Set aside a regular time for prayer, read a manageable portion of Scripture and reflect on what you learn. Consistency is built through repeated choices, not through one perfect day.
Ask for support
Tell a trusted Christian about the step you want to take. Ask them to pray with you and check in on your progress. Christian fellowship gives encouragement and reminds us that we do not have to grow alone.
Begin again when you stumble
You may miss a day or find a new habit difficult. Don’t turn one setback into a reason to quit. Acknowledge what happened, learn from it and begin again. If you need help, ask for it.
Your next seven days
- Read one chapter of John each day.
- Pray honestly, even if only for a few minutes.
- Put one teaching of Jesus into practice.
- Contact a trusted Christian or visit a local church.
- At the end of the week, reflect on what you learned.
Jesus calls us to follow Him. Take the next step with humility, faith and a willingness to keep growing.
