THE FIRE DISCIPLE โ SEASON 1: IDENTITY & FOUNDATION
Lesson 5: The Power of Repentance and Turning to God
Repentance is more than saying, “I’m sorry.” Biblical repentance means turning. It is a change of heart that produces a change of direction.
Acts 3:19 says, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” God calls us to come into the light, not to hide.
Sometimes we defend what God is asking us to surrender. We explain it, rename it or compare ourselves with other people. But a disciple learns to respond when the Holy Spirit convicts the heart.
Repentance restores fellowship
Repentance doesn’t earn God’s love. It responds to His grace. When we turn from sin, we stop running and return to God. Proverbs 28:13 reminds us that hiding sin keeps us from prospering, while confession and forsaking it lead to mercy.
Don’t wait until everything is fixed before coming to God. Come honestly. Bring Him the real heart. Let His grace teach you to live differently.
