There are moments when the next step is not obvious. You may be considering a job, facing a family decision or wondering how to respond to a difficult situation. Faith does not mean you will always know the future. It means seeking God’s wisdom as you take the next responsible step.
โIn all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.โ โ Proverbs 3:6 (KJV)
Start with prayer
Bring your desires and concerns before God. Ask for wisdom, listen with humility and be willing to let Him correct your priorities.
Let Scripture guide you
God’s direction will not require you to disobey His Word. Consider whether a choice encourages honesty, love, responsibility and care for others.
Seek wise counsel
Talk with mature Christians who know Scripture and are willing to ask thoughtful questions. Counsel can help you notice blind spots and consider consequences.
Take a thoughtful step
- Write down the decision you need to make.
- List the relevant biblical principles.
- Ask a trusted person for counsel.
- Choose a responsible next action and review it in prayer.
You don’t have to navigate every decision alone. A healthy church community can offer prayer, teaching and wise support without making decisions for you.
