THE FIRE DISCIPLE โ SEASON 1: IDENTITY & FOUNDATION
Lesson 4: Overcoming the Orphan Spirit
One of the deepest struggles in the heart is the feeling that you don’t belong. A person can attend church and still live inwardly like an orphan, always trying to earn acceptance.
Romans 8:15 says, “Ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” In Christ, God doesn’t merely rescue us from sin. He brings us into relationship with Himself.
An orphan mindset says, “I have to fight for everything. Nobody will keep me. I must prove my value.” Sonship says, “I belong to the Father, and from that belonging I learn to obey, serve and grow.” This doesn’t mean life becomes easy. It means you don’t face life without a Father.
Living from belonging
Learn to pray as a child coming to a Father. Receive correction without believing you have been rejected. Celebrate another person’s blessing without thinking it reduces yours. Serve without using service to buy acceptance.
The church should become a place where people encounter the Fatherhood of God and learn healthy spiritual family.

Prayer
Father, establish my heart in Your love. Heal every place where rejection has taught me to live like an orphan. Teach me to receive my identity from You and to walk as Your child. Amen.
Declaration: I belong to God. I am received through Christ. I live from sonship, not rejection.
