THE FIRE DISCIPLE โ SEASON 1: IDENTITY & FOUNDATION
Lesson 3: Your True Identity in Christ
The question “Who am I?” has driven many people into comparison. We look at family background, education, money, appearance, relationships and achievements. But a disciple learns to receive identity from Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Your past is part of your story, but it doesn’t have to remain your master.
In Christ you are forgiven. You are accepted by grace. You are God’s workmanship, created for good works (Ephesians 2:10). You are no longer defined by the labels people placed on you.
Identity changes behaviour
We don’t obey God to manufacture worth. We obey because we have received new life. A child who knows he belongs in the family behaves from belonging, not desperation.
When your identity is secure in Christ, comparison loses its grip. You don’t have to become someone else to matter. You can grow without despising where God has brought you.
