Pleasing the Father, Part 2
God wants us to live in peace with all people and to treat people with respect, especially those within our homes and relationships. Understanding the importance of relationships and maintaining them is vital for growth and sustainability.
Some relationships may have brought pain, disappointment or conflict. Yet reconciliation matters. We should not burn bridges simply because someone has hurt us. God can use relationships in different seasons of our lives, and wisdom teaches us to pursue peace where it is possible.
Above everything else, we need God with us. We must know Jesus Christ personally and understand Him as Lord.
How Jesus Pleased the Father
3. He Fulfilled Righteousness
Jesus lived in complete obedience to the will of the Father. His life showed us that pleasing God requires more than words. It requires a life submitted to God’s will.
4. He Humbled Himself
Jesus humbled Himself and became a servant. He lived among people and demonstrated that greatness in God’s Kingdom is expressed through service.
Humility allows us to serve people without seeking recognition. It helps us value others, maintain relationships and remain useful in the hands of God.
5. He Fulfilled Prophecy
Jesus lived with purpose. His life fulfilled what had been spoken concerning Him.
There are people today whom God is trusting with a purpose bigger than themselves. Some must make it for their families to move out of poverty. Some are being entrusted with resources so they can win souls and advance the Kingdom of God.
Don’t waste what God has placed in your hands. Your progress can become an answer to someone else’s prayer when it is surrendered to God.
6. He Was Not Selfish
Jesus gave Himself. He did not live only for His own benefit. His life was poured out for others.
When God can trust a person with resources, influence and opportunity, those things can become instruments for Kingdom purpose. Jesus can be trusted because He gave Himself.
A Life That Pleases the Father
Pleasing the Father is seen in how we live, how we treat people, how we serve, how we handle resources and how faithfully we walk in God’s purpose.
Ask yourself:
- Am I pursuing peace in my relationships?
- Am I willing to humble myself and serve?
- Am I using what God has given me to fulfil His purpose?
- Can God trust me with more because I am willing to give more?
May our lives point people to Jesus and bring pleasure to the Father.
