Many believers love Jesus but keep fighting the same battles. Then comes the question: “How do I stop falling into the same sin?”
First, don’t run from God because you fell. Run to Him. The enemy wants sin to push you into hiding. Grace calls you back into the presence of God.
Remember who you are in Christ
Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” KJV.
Grace isn’t permission to remain in sin. Grace gives you power to live differently. Your struggle isn’t your identity. In Christ, you are being transformed.
Stop feeding what you’re trying to kill
Sometimes we pray for victory while continuing to feed the temptation. Change what you watch. Change what you listen to. Change environments that repeatedly pull you back. Set boundaries.
Paul told Timothy to “flee youthful lusts” and pursue righteousness. 2 Timothy 2:22 KJV.
Stay full of God’s Word
Psalm 119:11 says, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
The Word doesn’t only tell you what not to do. It fills your heart with a better way to live.
Don’t fight alone
Healthy Christian relationships matter. Find mature believers who can pray with you, challenge you and help you stay accountable.
There are battles you need to bring into the light. Shame says, “Hide it.” Wisdom says, “Get help.”
When you fall, get up
Proverbs 24:16 says, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.”
Repent quickly. Receive God’s forgiveness. Learn what caused the fall. Make the necessary changes. Then keep walking.
At BCICHURCH, our desire is not to produce people who look spiritual for two hours on Sunday. We want transformed lives that carry Christ everywhere.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me strength to overcome every sinful pattern. Fill me with Your Spirit and Your Word. Give me wisdom to set boundaries and humility to receive accountability. When I fall, help me rise and keep following You. Amen.
Child of Fire, grace isn’t a license to stay down. Get up and walk with Jesus.
